I travel to Hanoi a lot for works so have tried several different hotels at all levels. Was recommended by friends, I decided to try Golden Rice Hotel. I got the 7fl available room. The price was 60 USD so I didn't expect much even though the website (which is done very well) had nice pics.

You enter the hotel through a large wooden doorway that makes you feel you are visiting a friend's very nice house.

The check in staff was very welcoming and professional. My room was a decent size and very clean with a closet, refrigerator and LCD TV. The bathroom was similarly very well appointed. I was surprised that a hotel of this price range supplied the amenities they do which included a small toothbrush and toothpaste. The shower is very good. The rain shower type and the waterflow and temperature control is excellent. I am sure tourist would appreciate this even more than I do especially after a day roaming around the city. The rooms also have high ceilings and ceiling fans. The room was so cool that I didn't use the air conditioner at anytime which was something I haven't done for a long time in Asia.

The restaurant is small but again clean with excellent service. The food is really good. I recommend the pizzas. Breakfast is also very good for a hotel of this price range. You can order eggs made any way you want and there is a selection of juices, fruit and coffee.

I would definitely recommend Hotel Golden Rice to tourists and business travelers. I wish them continued success as I would like to make it my regular hotel in Hanoi.
